No Curse is Without a Cause

Proverbs 26:2, “As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, so honor is not seemly for a fool.

As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come.”

No curse shall come upon you without a reason. Every curse that comes upon you has a cause and an entry point. What many do not understand are the consequences of a neglected  spiritual life. When you neglect areas of your spiritual life, they very quickly become a cause. When you combine a deficient spiritual life and an over appetite of your flesh life, you have just given the devil a cause and an entry point. EVERY cause is looking for a point of entry.

John 12:3-6, “Then Mary took about a pint of pure nard, an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus' feet and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume (The anointing filled the house with a fragrance pleasing to God. Performance fills the house with a stench). But one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, who was later to betray him, objected, ‘Why wasn't this perfume sold and the money given to the poor? It was worth a year's wages.’ He did not say this because he cared about the poor, but because he was a thief; as keeper of the money bag, he used to help himself to what was put into it.”

Judas who would betray Jesus, was a thief who carried and took money out of the money box….Luke 22:3 Then Satan entered Judas,(entry point) called Iscariot, one of the Twelve. He was feeding his flesh as a thief and that became the cause. When he took the money out of the box, that became the entry point of Satan. The disciple was filled with Satan because he neglected his spiritual life and fed his flesh. Judas betrayed Jesus! Judas carried the tithes/offering box (todays offering basket) the money box/tithes and offering basket had to be carried because Jesus’ ministry was mobile. Judas used to take the tithes and offering money out of the offering box/basket. Judas is walking with the Master and taking money out of the tithes/offering box. I don’t think anyone today would steal money out of the tithe/offering basket by reaching their hand in and taking something out. The money (tithes/offering) belonged to God. Is it not the same when you DON’T put tithes in the basket, as taking money out of the basket? Taking out is stealing, and so is not putting in what belongs to God! They are both acts of thievery. You are not stealing for spiritual purposes, you are stealing to feed your flesh. When you steal from God, you give Satan access.

Judas was stealing money out for fear of the future, perhaps you are not tithing for fear of the future. You don’t know if you will even be alive tomorrow, yet you are trying to hold on to something that belongs to God who controls tomorrow! If you cannot trust God with 10%, HE cannot trust you with a million. You say, “I can’t afford to tithe because I will need that money next week.”  You have not even processed the fact that your giving is Gods’ opportunity to cause men to give into you. You are robbing God of speaking to another heart to deposit into your bosom and robbing the person that is supposed to bless you of the opportunity to be a blessing!  Have you betrayed Jesus for 10%? If you are withholding the tithe, you have betrayed Him for 10%, and bought yourself into slavery/bondage. The 30 pieces of silver that Judas betrayed Jesus for, was the price of a slave (Ex. 21:32). Imagine that, you have purchased your own bondage! The only way out, become a tither!
